Throughout the centuries each one plays a part -
for all human beings are a true work of art
Their passions, their glories, their struggles and their pain
are but snapshots of life; mixed with sun and rain
All of earth's creatures are full of beauty
and to protect them from harm is our duty
To loose them forever would be a crime -
so cherish and love them to the end of time
A surface is but a shell
where buried mysteries often dwell
Brave those depths and you may find
A heart, a soul, a truth refined
Winter, spring, summer, fall
far in the distance, we hear their call
Some fly through the air, some bask on shore
Our fine-feathered friends both swim and soar
Some will call me a wizard with my technique
but the wood shares its secrets - it's own mystique
It will whisper or sing and will sometimes shriek
my hands carve it's message - with each piece unique
